As a safety precaution, it is strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel abroad to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.

Please note that many flights are cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. You should consult your airline company to find out if your flight is being maintained. You can have a look at our article which is listing the airlines that maintain or not their flights.

Airports have also taken security measures. Screening at international airports in affected areas allows early detection of travellers with symptoms so that they can be examined and treated, and thus prevent the export of the disease.

Advices for travellers coming from a risk area:

For travellers coming back from a risk area, it is strongly recommended, within 14 days of their stay, to:

- check their temperature twice a day, and the possible appearance of symptoms of respiratory infection (coughing, difficulty breathing...)

- avoid close contact, especially with fragile people (chronically ill, pregnant women, elderly people...)

- reduce leisure activities (cinema, restaurant, outings...) and the use of places where fragile people  are (hospitals, maternity wards...)

- wash your hands regularly

- give priority, wherever possible, to work from home

You can consult the status of the situation of the regions with this link shared by the WHO :

 https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/situation-reports/

In case of fever or symptoms suggestive of acute respiratory illness occurring before, during or after travel, travellers are advised to consult a physician online and advise him of their travel history.

Advices for futures travellers:

If your flight is still scheduled, it is important to apply some precautionary health measures during your trip:

  • Avoid spending time in large crowds or crowded places

  • Avoid contact with sick people, especially if they have a fever, cough or difficulty breathing

  • Wash your hands often with warm running water and soap for at least 20 seconds

  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Be considerate and keep some with you when you travel

  • Cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spread of germs

  • If you use a tissue, throw it away as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards

  • Use gloves and don't touch your face. Wash gloves as soon as you get home and wash your hands
